Job summary

St. John of the Cross Parish in Lemon Grove, CA is seeking a part-time Maintenance Worker. The role supports the Maintenance Supervisor and handles building and grounds upkeep at the parish location on Broadway.

This position requires readiness for indoor/outdoor work with attention to safety and efficiency. Responsibilities include completing daily work orders and assisting with electrical, plumbing, welding and carpentry tasks, with weekend hours also required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak and understand English and Spanish.
• Experience with plumbing, electrical work, welding and carpentry preferred.
• Respect for the religious environment in sacred buildings and items.
• One year of maintenance experience preferred.

Employment Type: Part time (Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm and Sundays 11am-2pm)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Rate: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Position Summary

• Handles most aspects of maintenance to insure a safe and efficient physical plant.

• Provides support to Maintenance Supervisor
• Responsible for maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds
• Accurately completes all daily work orders in a specific amount of time
• Assists in troubleshooting maintenance issues involving electrical, plumbing, appliances and carpentry
• Support Parish School as needed
• Other duties as assigned

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to be mobile to, from, and within the facility, as well as maneuver throughout the facility to clean and maintain the property.
