A Day in the Life of a Maintenance Worker

As a Maintenance Worker, you play an essential role in ensuring that residents feel at home in a well-functioning assisted living community. When you arrive for your shift, a variety of general maintenance issues await your attention. Your knowledge about plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and flooring serves you well as you address each problem. Using your judgment and time management skills, you prioritize the order of your to-dos.

Sometimes you spend your shift redoing a room. You patch walls, apply a fresh coat of paint, replace the carpet, and do whatever else you can to make the unit look new again. Occasionally you are called in to take care of an urgent repair. You take on-call responsibilities seriously because you care about the welfare of our residents. You know that their quality of life depends on their environment. Ensuring they are comfortable in their time of need is something you are proud to do!

Qualifications for a Maintenance Worker
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Generalized knowledge about plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and flooring
  • Driver\'s license

One or more years of maintenance experience is preferred. Are you a problem solver? Do you have the drive to follow through? Are you punctual and reliable? Are you flexible and understanding? If so, you might be perfect for this handyman position!

Work Schedule
  • Full-time; day shift (40 hours weekly)

In addition, this position has on-call responsibilities. For each call-in, pay is based on a 2-hour minimum.
