Job summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure, a CRH company, is seeking a maintenance mechanic to perform a broad range of tasks in an industrial manufacturing setting. This role focuses on keeping equipment safe and productive by implementing preventative maintenance, reading manuals, and diagnosing malfunctions.

You will troubleshoot automation and electrical systems, install and calibrate PLCs and sensors, document tasks in CMMS, and collaborate with production teams while following lockout/tagout and arc flash

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary training preferred
  • Apprenticeship program in maintenance millwrighting or equivalent training
  • Strong knowledge of automation, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery to ensure reliability
  • Troubleshoot automation, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
  • Repair or replace defective components and subsystems
  • Install, configure, and calibrate PLCs, sensors, and actuators
  • Conduct inspections and tests and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to resolve issues
  • Follow lockout/tagout and arc-flash safety protocols
  • Document maintenance activities in CMMS or similar tools
  • Pursue ongoing training in automation and safety
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to boost reliability and efficiency

Job Summary

The ideal candidate in this role will perform a wide range of duties in an industrial manufacturing environment. This maintenance mechanic will be responsible for ensuring all equipment is operating safely and efficiently by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following diagrams, reading operations manuals and troubleshooting malfunctions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with automation systems, electrical components, mechanical equipment, and hydraulic systems
  • Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems, utilizing knowledge of automation, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic principles
  • Install, configure, and calibrate automation systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, actuators, and other control devices
  • Conduct inspections and tests on machinery and equipment to identify potential problems and implement corrective actions proactively
  • Collaborate with production personnel and other maintenance team members to address maintenance issues promptly and efficiently
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including lockout/tagout, arc flash safety, and other relevant safety measures, to ensure a safe working environment
  • Document maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other record-keeping tools
  • Stay updated with advancements in automation technology, electrical systems, mechanical engineering, and hydraulic systems through ongoing training and professional development
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in industrial maintenance, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred
  • Completion of apprenticeship program or equivalent training in maintenance millwrighting
  • Strong technical skills in automation systems, electrical systems, mechanical components, and hydraulic systems
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with machinery and equipment
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures, including lockout/tagout, arc flash safety, and other relevant safety measures
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
