Job summary

Oldcastle on-site maintenance mechanic role covering all equipment on site. You will perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs using basic hand and power tools and read schematics.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in plant/equipment maintenance, a high school diploma or technical trade cert, and welding experience is a plus. You must be able to lift 40 lbs, work overtime, and follow OSHA safety practices on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• Must have equipment maintenance background.
• Welding experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work overtime as needed.
• High school graduate; post-secondary technical trade certificates desirable.
• Five or more years of plant/equipment maintenance experience in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose equipment problems.
• Troubleshoot systems and make necessary adjustments, corrections or repairs.
• Call-in and coordinate outside repairs if needed.
• Mentor and train lesser trained team members and assist in their advancement.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds and walk or stand most of the shift and be able to work overtime as needed.
• Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Make repairs in a timely fashion.
• Work safely with knowledge of OSHA standard industrial safety practices.

Job Summary

The maintenance mechanic is responsible for the maintenance and support of all equipment on site. This could involve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs, as well as building maintenance. This role involves using basic hand and power tools, and reading schematics, diagrams, or basic sketches.
