Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) is seeking a Maintenance Utility Technician to help achieve world-class cleanliness and organization on the shop floor. The role supports 6S and LEAN initiatives, performing cleaning, maintenance, and impro­vement tasks across the area.

You will assist in shop floor upkeep, build simple tools, and collaborate with team members to enhance safety and efficiency through continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain shop floor cleanliness and organization; support LEAN 6S initiatives.
  • Sweep, mop, wax floors; dust and wash surfaces; manage waste and restrooms.
  • Ensure clutter is cleared from work areas; assist with safety and health evaluations.
  • Construct shop aids to support 6S activities; install labels, paint, tape on flooring and equipment.
  • Assist in the design of fixtures and tables for department organization.
  • Maintain floor coatings; basic welding, cutting, and grinding tasks as assigned.
  • Interface with department personnel regarding continuous improvement and cost-savings.
  • Participate in required safety training and comply with policies.

Maintenance Utility Technician - 3rd OWW

The primary focus of the Utility Operator is to get plant cleanliness and organization to a world class
condition by assisting in the implementation of LEAN principles, including 6S and continuous
improvement. The Utility Operator will participate in all aspects of cleaning, maintaining, and
improvement initiatives of shop the floor areas.

Responsibilities:
Plant Cleaning & Operations:
* Maintain shop floor cleanliness.
* Sweep, mop, wax floors.
* Dust and wash common surfaces (i.e., walls, duct work, furniture, etc.)
* Keep clutter from the work areas. Empty waste containers and dust collectors.
* Clean and stock restrooms. Ability to work flexible hours and over time when required.
* Perform other tasks as directed by supervisor.
Maintenance:
* Construct shop aids (i.e., cutting wedges, boxes, trays, etc.) in support of 6S initiatives.
* Apply label's, paint, and tape to flooring, shop aides, and other equipment to assist in the
organization of department during 6S activities.
* Actively interface with department personnel regarding continuous improvement efforts
including cost saving and safety improvements.
* Assist in the design of various fixtures, shop aides and tables as requested.
* Installation and maintenance of floor coatings.
* Basic welding, cutting, and grinding tasks as assigned.
* Must comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies and procedures while maintaining
a clean, safe, and orderly work environment. Must participate in required training, medical
monitoring, safety and health evaluations and programs.
Qualifications:
* Prefer previous janitorial experience. Ability to read, follow, and interpret instructions.
* Ability to work independently. Must be able to physically perform essential job functions.
* Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate activities with others.
* Must possess organizational skills to organize information and materials and attend to details.
* Ability to work in working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals,
temperature extremes, and other elements for extended periods of time.
* Forklift, Basic hand tools (e.g., hammers wrenches, saws, etc.)
