Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. seeks an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee all plant maintenance activities, including electrical and mechanical systems, production equipment, utilities, and grounds.

The role focuses on leading maintenance staff, implementing preventive maintenance, and driving continuous improvement while ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma with related experience; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing setting, ideally press and CNC machining.
  • Analytical problem-solving and Lean Manufacturing exposure.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks.
  • Ability to lead, communicate effectively, and manage teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance of production equipment, systems, and facilities to ensure uninterrupted operation.
  • Develop and manage Preventive Maintenance program for machinery and equipment.
  • Direct maintenance, electrical, and mechanical operations; plan daily work and scheduling.
  • Evaluate work in progress and completed jobs for safety and quality standards.
  • Procure materials and parts; manage inventory and vendor relations.
  • Plan equipment upgrades and modification to maximize production efficiency.
  • Lead layout planning for electrical/mechanical systems; implement changes.
  • Drive downtime reduction, lean practices, and 6S principles.
  • Support budget targets and capital expenditure controls.
  • Supervise staff and promote cross-training; ensure performance and safety.

Job description

The Maintenance Manager will oversee all physical aspects of the plant including service and repair of electrical and mechanical systems; maintenance of production equipment, physical plant, utilities, and grounds; and compliance with applicable policies and regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Hires and trains Maintenance Department staff.
  • Organizes and oversees Maintenance staff duties and scheduling.
  • Conducts timely and constructive performance evaluations.
  • Oversees, schedules, and coordinates daily work assignments of maintenance, electrical, and mechanical operation workers.
  • Handles development and discipline of employees as needed, and in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates proper maintenance of all parts and areas of the facility including machinery and buildings.
  • Creates, schedules, implements, and manages a Preventive Maintenance Program for production machinery and equipment.
  • Directs the maintenance and operations of various facility systems to ensure uninterrupted service. Covered systems may include electrical, refrigeration, water, steam, and compressed gas.
  • Evaluates jobs in process and on completion to ensure products meet safety and work quality expectations.
  • Conducts chemical analysis and maintenance as required for boiler, air wash-water, and similar systems.
  • Procures materials, supplies, and repair parts to maintain inventory as required.
  • Suggests, plans, and oversees equipment needs and acquisition to maximize production efficiency and return.
  • Oversees and plans the layout of electrical and mechanical equipment; recommends and implements modifications to facilities.
  • Assist in driving unplanned machine down-time to company standards
  • Support efforts to drive Continuous Improvement efforts, Lean Manufacturing techniques, and 6S theories
  • Assists in meeting budget targets and limits on capital purchases are adhered to
  • Supervises the maintenance staff and drive cross-training for the department
  • Problem-solving and trouble shooting maintenance issues
  • Ensures daily goals and metrics are met and sustained daily/weekly/quarterly/annually
  • Performs other related duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Degree plus ten years related experience (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably Press and CNC machining in hydraulic and mechanical environments.
  • Must possess analytical problem-solving techniques.
  • Exposure or ability to learn Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Self-motivated and self-managed, possessing strong organizational skills

Relocation

Relocation is authorized for this position.

The range of pay for this role is $130,000 to $160,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. This role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 3X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, etc.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To comply with those regulations, this position may require applicants to be U.S. Persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)), or eligible to obtain the required export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Department of Commerce.
