Professional Aircraft Accessories, Inc. is seeking an entry level Maintenance Utility Employee to learn mechanical skills, knowledge, and abilities with potential progression to technician or machinist.

This role supports shop processes to produce aircraft parts and performs maintenance on shop and facility equipment as needed. You will keep the work areas clean and organized, maintain 5S standards, assist with positioning fixtures and tools on mills, lathes, grinders, and other machines, help

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with tooling and measuring techniques preferred.
  • Understanding of EHS and workplace safety required.
  • Basic Microsoft Excel/Outlook skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain shop areas including chemical room, machine shop, and production floor for day-to-day operations and FOD control.
  • Organize shop materials and tools and maintain 5S compliance.
  • Learn to set up and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials on mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, engraving machines, and riveting machines.
  • Assist production technicians with preparing aircraft parts for inspections using cleaners, paint strippers, and media blast as required.
  • Stage material and ensure machines are in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is intended as an entry level role for learning and developing mechanical skills, knowledge, and abilities with potential progression to technician or machinist. The maintenance utility employee is responsible for supporting shop processes to produce aircraft/aerospace parts and components and performs maintenance and repairs on shop and facility equipment as needed.

Essential Functions Statement(s)


  • Clean and maintain shop areas including the chemical room, machine shop and production floor for day-to-day operations to include FOD control.

  • Learn to select, align, and secure specified holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, grinders, sanders, drill presses, computerized engraving machines, and riveting machines.

  • Assist production technicians with preparing aircraft parts for inspections by using solvent cleaners, paint strippers and media blast as required.

  • Stage material and ensure that machines are in a safe, clean and orderly manner.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:


  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required

  • Associate degree (two-year college or technical school): Preferred

  • Familiarity with tooling and measuring techniques/equipment preferred.


Computer Skills:


  • General computer skills, including basic Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills preferred.


Other Requirements:


  • Understanding of EHS requirements and workplace safety is required.
