The Maintenance Therapy Associate will provide non-skilled therapy to enhance and assist individuals with functional mobility at Murdoch Developmental Center. Working under the Physical and Occupational Therapy Department, you will help deliver care that is both impactful and essential in improving the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This full-time position offers a sign-on bonus and requires basic computer skills along with a high school diploma or equivalent.

The primary purpose of the Physical and Occupational Therapy Department at Murdoch Developmental Center is to provide physical and occupational therapy services to people who live at Murdoch Developmental Center and to deliver appropriate intervention based upon the results of an evaluation.
The Maintenance Therapy Associate is a non-licensed, on-the-job trained staff who administers maintenance therapy programs and activities to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities as instructed by Physical and Occupational Therapy personnel. This position provides non-skilled therapy to improve, maintain and/or decelerate a decline in functional mobility. The Maintenance Therapy Associate participates in other related healthcare duties which may include, but not limited to fulfillment of Adaptive Dining Equipment requests, therapy equipment maintenance, transport of people to and from campus clinic appointments and events.

Qualified applicants must be selected from the candidate pool of this posting and meet the State policy followingrequirements:
A newly hired permanent full time or permanent part-time employee who works 30 to 40 hours per week is eligible for a sign-on bonus (this will be prorated for employees working less than 40 hours per week).
An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:
(1) the employee has held a position in North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date);
(2) the employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency;
(3) or DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
This Sign-on Bonus is contingent upon budget and final eligibility determination as of the effective date of hire.
