Job summary

Stryker in Cary, IL is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot production equipment, and support the manufacturing lines.

You will lead repairs, coordinate with product builders, and contribute to continuous improvement through change control and PM programs. A strong background in PLCs, electrical controls, and pneumatic systems is required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of relevant maintenance experience.
  • Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science; 5+ years in industrial maintenance.
  • Strong PLC and electrical controls troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Mechanical, Electrical, and Pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic failures of production machines promptly.
  • Determine and develop approaches to machinery repair and troubleshooting.
  • Have full knowledge of motion controls, industrial controls, electrical and pneumatic operations.
  • Lead collaborative efforts in major repairs; exercise judgment on major breakdowns.
  • Perform PM work per schedule and seek PM improvements.
  • Conduct moderately complex troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Communicate with product builders and technicians; provide technical support.
  • Review and execute maintenance procedures through change control.

Schedule

Friday: 6:45 am – 3:00 pm; Saturday & Sunday: 6:45 am – 7:00 pm; Monday: 6:45 am – 3:00 pm. OT Required.

What you will do

This position conducts equipment assembly and operations support activities including preventive maintenance program requirements, product and process support, troubleshooting and resolving problems. This role responds to the demands of the production lines including needs for increased equipment support as customer demands may require.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic failures of production machines in a timely manner while seeking opportunities to eliminate reoccurring failures
  • Independently determines and develops approach to machinery repair and troubleshooting
  • Full knowledge of motion controls, industrial controls, electrical and pneumatic operations to resolve complex machine issues on the production line
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of repairs to major breakdowns and often lead collaborative efforts in major repairs
  • Perform PM work (preventative maintenance) as scheduled and seek opportunities for improvement to PM program
  • Conduct moderately complex troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Conduct activities, tasks, and documentation per quality system requirements
  • Assist in reviewing and executing maintenance procedures through the change control process
  • Communicate with and provide technical support or direction to product builders and other technicians
What you will need

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree Engineering or Science
  • 5+ years of relevant experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician or similar
  • Strong PLC and Electrical Controls experience and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Experience with Mechanical, Electrical, and Pneumatic troubleshooting

$35.10 Hourly plus bonus eligible + benefits
