Job summary

Certified-Power-Train is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance and in-depth repairs on CNC equipment, including lathes, mills, and hobbing machines. You will work with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems while maintaining a strong safety mindset.

The role requires experience reading schematics, strong hands-on capability, and familiarity with Fanuc or Haas controls.

Qualifications

• 3+ years maintenance experience, with exposure to CNC machinery and electrical systems.
• Experience reading diagrams, schematics, engineering prints for mechanical/electrical systems.
• Fanuc and Haas control familiarity is preferred.
• Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Owns and executes preventative maintenance program for plant equipment.
• Troubleshoots and repairs CNC lathes, mills, hobbing equipment, saws, and related machinery.
• Collaborates with Maintenance Supervisor to expedite projects and material needs.
• Updates and tracks machine repairs in systems database.
• Adheres to safety protocols including LOTO and safe work practices.
• Recommends improvements to maintenance processes.
• Fabricates tooling/fixturing and monitors perishable tooling.
• Reads and interprets diagrams and manuals for electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

JOB PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY:

This individual will perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement functions on plant equipment and machinery with limited direction and guidance. Areas of responsibility will include all facets of the production environment as well as facility’s maintenance, HVAC, hydraulics and electrical work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ownership of the preventative maintenance program.
• Troubleshoot and repair CNC lathes, mills, hobbing equipment, saws, etc.
• Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to expedite projects and material needs as required.
• Update and track machine repair in systems database.
• Maintain a sense of urgency, self-motivation and overall good work ethic while operating in a safe manner.
• Adherence to LOTO procedures.
• Recommend improvements to current maintenance processes and activities.
• Fabricate and implement tooling and fixturing
• Monitor levels of perishable tooling and make recommendations to maintenance supervisor

COMPETENCIES:

• Knowledge of practices used in CNC and mechanical machine diagnostics and repair, as well as building, electrical or mechanical trades required
• Must be able to read and understand diagrams, schematics, engineering prints and manuals for mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Must possess basic fabrication techniques that would be used in machine repair.
• Must be able to use electrical test equipment to identify, analyze, and resolve electrical problems.
• Must possess a “strong hands-on” attitude and knowledge of electrical, electronic, PLC controls and computerized components of CNC and manual machines.

• On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.
• The employee must occasionally lift to 70 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Requirements

• Must have 3 years of maintenance troubleshooting and repair experience.
• 1 year post high school education/training in electronics
• 1 credit welding post high school a plus
• Post high school formal training in fabrication a plus
• Specific knowledge of Fanuc controls and Haas is desired.
• Extensive electrical troubleshooting experience
• Certified electrician a plus
• Prior work experience in, paper machines, CNC’s, printing presses and/or other manufacturing processing machines a plus.
• Computer literate in Windows
• Basic welding knowledge
• Forklift operating certification a plus
