Job summary

The State of Indiana invites applications for a Maintenance Technician at Putnamville Correctional Facility in Greencastle. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry, in a structured day shift from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, with strong safety practices and opportunities to learn and advance into supervisory roles.

Qualifications

Knowledge of electrical systems, carpentry, plumbing and painting trades.

Responsibilities

Solicit cost estimates or cost proposals.
Estimate costs and work hours for maintenance projects.
Oversee and participates in preventive maintenance and repairs of facilities
Maintain accountability of materials, tools, equipment, and vehicles.
Ensure compliance with protective and safety requirements
Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees to ensure role responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood while providing opportunities to continue professional development.
Set expectations, measure progress, provide ongoing feedback, and evaluate the performance of employees.
Workday attendance at assigned worksite(s) is an essential function of this position.
