Job summary

Mercy Housing is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our on-site team in Omaha, NE. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and apartment turnovers, ensuring a clean, safe, hazard-free environment.

Duties include completing work orders promptly, painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks, along with providing courteous customer service to residents. A high school diploma and basic maintenance knowledge are required; a valid driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of basic building maintenance.
• Legally operate a motor vehicle with valid license and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders in a timely and accurate manner. Cleans up after work is complete.
• Performs repairs on the property, including painting, basic carpentry or wall repair, plumbing, and electrical.
• Cleans apartments during turnover process, as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.

The successful Maintenance Technician will complete preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and apartment turnovers. As part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, customer service, and a hazard-free environment.

This is an on-site position.

Pay: $22-24/hour, depending on experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year in skilled maintenance work.
• Technical training in one or more building trades preferred.
