Join Our Team as a Maintenance Technician - Tampa, FL

Phillips Manufacturing Co. is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Tampa manufacturing team. This hands-on role involves inspecting, testing, installing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of equipment across our facility.

Position Details:

• Full-time (non-exempt)
• Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Essential Functions:

1. Receive and understand work orders and technical documentation before starting repairs.
2. Conduct periodic inspections of machinery such as conveyors, motors, and hydraulic systems.
3. Dismantle and reassemble industrial machines using appropriate tools.
4. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
5. Respond quickly to emergency repairs on production lines.
6. Review blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to determine repair methods.
7. Read electrical wiring diagrams and mechanical blueprints accurately.
8. Install or repair electrical components adhering to NEC standards.
9. Work at heights or in confined spaces as required.
10. Maintain a clean and organized work environment following safety standards.
11. Document repairs and create sketches or notes as needed.
12. Maintain dependable attendance and flexibility for overtime.
13. Follow all safety protocols, including PPE use and Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Thorough knowledge of industrial electrical and mechanical systems.
• Understanding of motors, circuits, and controls.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical (75%) and mechanical (25%) issues efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to read technical diagrams.
• Proficiency with measurement tools like calipers, multimeters, etc.
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs., working at heights, and in tight spaces.

Experience:

Minimum 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
