Maintenance Technician Sr role at Oliver Healthcare Packaging

Position Summary: Repairs and maintains mechanical and hydraulic components on production machines and equipment such as printing presses, compressed air, coating machines, die cut equipment, slitters, hot oil system and boilers.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunction.
  • Dismantle machines and equipment to gain access to problem areas.
  • Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
  • Remove and replace worn or defective parts or drive mechanisms or hydraulic system.
  • Realign and adjust components such as spindles and clutches.
  • Locate damaged air and hydraulic pipes on machine and measure, cut, thread, and install new pipe.
  • Start machines and equipment to test operation following repair.
  • Repair broken parts. Work with operator to ensure corrective actions have been taken.
  • Assist product and process engineers to modify sketches or computer-generated designs of machine components such as hydraulic system and drive mechanism.
Basic Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Level I (0–4 years) or Level II (5+ years).
Other Requirements
  • Strong technical and mechanical skills including pneumatics, electrical controls, PLC programming.
  • Experience with electronic and information systems, including network communications, vision systems, and other data collection systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in related field.
  • Specialized in maintenance operations in related business field.
  • Demonstrated ability in mechanical skills, analytical thinking, trouble shooting, problem solving, project management, and effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in cGMP and ISO 13485 a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand, bend, kneel, walk, sit, balance, handle or feel objects; tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Work safely with materials and equipment.
  • Work overtime and flexible shifts.
  • Various levels of gowning required.
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions
  • Works in a controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work safely with materials and equipment.
  • Various levels of gowning required.
  • Hearing protection recommended.
  • Hair, beard nets and smocks required. Gloves required for all products or functions, except for products involving tape.
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment (moving parts, cutters, etc.).
  • Exposure to odors associated with manufacturing.
Special Requirements
  • Ability to travel (US and internationally).
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends.
