Job summary

Welch Packaging in Toledo, OH is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep corrugating machinery running safely and efficiently. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues, and repair production equipment to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Electrical certification preferred.
  • Corrugated packaging industry experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical machinery.
  • Ability to use shop tools and equipment such as drill press, shop grinders, welders, oxy‑acetylene torch.
  • Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability with practical mechanical & electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Fully computer literate with Microsoft environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain company‑owned machinery and equipment in proper working order.
  • Provide on‑call emergency repairs.
  • Take control of breakdowns.
  • Execute a plan for continued improvement of machine safety and general housekeeping.
  • Work with crews to complete all preventative maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot with machine operator to determine root cause of mechanical issues.
  • Respond quickly to maintenance requests and prioritize effectively.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Manager to resolve accident‑waiting‑to‑happen forms.
  • Maintain organization and inventory of maintenance shop and tools as a team.
  • Duties may vary depending on location.

SUMMARY

Supports our production operations by ensuring optimal performance of manufacturing equipment.
