Job description

Repairs and maintains mechanical and hydraulic components or production machines and equipment such as printing presses, compressed air, coating machines, die cut equipment, slitters, hot oil system and boilers, by performing the following duties.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunction.
  • Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem area.
  • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
  • Removes and replaces worn or defective parts or drive mechanism or hydraulic system.
  • Realigns and adjusts components such as spindles and clutches.
  • Locates damaged air and hydraulic pipes on machine and measures, cuts, threads, and installs new pipe.
  • Starts machines and equipment to test operation following repair.
  • Repairs broken parts. Works with operator to ensure corrective actions have been taken.
  • Assists product and process engineers to modify sketches or computer-generated designs of machine components such as hydraulic system and drive mechanism.
Basic Qualifications
Education

High School Diploma or GED required.

E xperience

Experience - Level I: 0 – 4 years, Level 2: 5+ years

Other Requirements

Strong technical and mechanical skills including pneumatics, electrical controls, PLC programming.

Experience with electronic and information systems including network communications, vision systems, and other data collection systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Education and/or Experience – Sr. Maintenance Technician

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in related field.

Specialized in maintenance operations in related business field.

Demonstrate ability in – mechanical skills, analytical thinking, trouble shooting, problem solving, project management, and effective communication skills.

Knowledge and experience in cGMP and ISO 13485 a plus .

Physical Requirements

Employee is required to stand, bend, kneel, walk, sit, balance, handle or feel objects; tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.

Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to work safely with materials and equipment.

Must be able to work overtime and flexible shifts.

Various levels of gowning are required.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.

W orking Conditions

Works in a controlled manufacturing environment .

Must be able to work safely with materials and equipment.

Various levels of gowning are required.

Hearing protection recommended.

Hair, beard nets and smocks required. Gloves ARE required for all products or functions. Except for products involving tape.

Exposure to manufacturing equipment (moving parts, cutters etc.).

Exposure to odors associated with manufacturing.

Special Requirements

Ability to travel (US and internationally)

Ability to work evenings and/or weekends
