Job summary

Mercy Housing in Indianapolis is looking for a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join their team. You will be responsible for preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and apartment turnovers, ensuring cleanliness and safety at Spruce Manor Apartments.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic building maintenance required.
• Minimum of one year in skilled maintenance work is preferred.
• Technical training in one or more building trades preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders in a timely and accurate manner.
• Perform repairs on the property including plumbing and electrical.
• Clean apartments during turnover process.

The successful Maintenance Technician will complete preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and apartment turnovers. As part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, customer service, and a hazard-free environment. This is an on‑site position at Spruce Manor Apartments in Indianapolis.

Pay: $22-24/hour, dependent on experience.

Duties

• Completes work orders in a timely and accurate manner. Cleans up after work is complete.
• Performs repairs on the property, including painting, basic carpentry or wall repair, plumbing, and electrical.
• Cleans apartments during turnover process, as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of basic building maintenance required either through training or experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year in skilled maintenance work.
• Technical training in one or more building trades preferred.

Knowledge And Skills

• Take direction from the supervisor.
• Read, write, do basic math, and follow instructions.
• Flexible to change work plans.
• Maintain a professional personal appearance.
• Legally operate a motor vehicle (valid driver's license and insurance).
