Job Title: Full-Time Forklift Maintenance Technician / Material Handling Service Specialist
Location: Secaucus, NJ
Salary: $70,000–$90,000 per year (based on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time/ direct hire
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Forklift Maintenance Technician to support our operations and serve as a key Material Handling Service Specialist. This role requires strong technical skills in forklift and material handling equipment maintenance, along with managerial experience to lead service operations and support a growing team. The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of forklift brands and material handling equipment
Oversee the service schedule to ensure timely preventative maintenance and equipment uptime.
Lead and supervise a team of technicians or service staff, ensuring high performance and safety compliance.
Order and manage parts inventory for repairs and maintenance jobs.
Provide on-site support to operations, troubleshoot equipment issues, and ensure minimal downtime.
Maintain accurate service records, work logs, and safety checklists.
Collaborate with operations leadership to optimize equipment performance and workflow.
Train junior technicians as needed and assist with technical onboarding.
Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on experience in forklift or industrial equipment maintenance.
2+ years of managerial or supervisory experience in a technical or service role but not required.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
OSHA certification or other safety training is a plus.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications .
