Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance to maintain and improve operating condition, quality, and integrity of all building systems and building appearances throughout the site. Duties include unit turnover; painting, carpentry, plumbing, major appliance repair, electrical issues; assisting in training janitorial or new personnel; conducting maintenance inspections including security, alarm & fire systems; performing work-orders timely; inspecting subcontractor work; snow and ice removal; inspecting grounds and common areas for cleanliness, lawn‑care, sidewalk or parking lot issues; and reporting to the manager. Technicians are essential personnel required to report to work for snow removal and community emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Prior maintenance and/or construction experience required.
• Basic mechanical skills and ability to work independently.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment such as snow blowers, lawn mowers, and carpet cleaning machinery.
• Physical ability to walk/stand for full shift, climb ladders, and perform other physically demanding tasks.
• Must pass Competency Maintenance Test.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment, HVAC, carpentry, painting, electrical troubleshooting, and plumbing proficiency required.
