Job summary

Seaboard Foods is seeking a Maintenance Team Member for our Rolla, Kansas location. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing buildings, systems and equipment across animal production facilities to ensure smooth operations.

The candidate will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and install, using a range of tools and testing devices. On-call availability and ability to meet DOT/physical requirements are required.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or GED preferred; or 1–3 months training/experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders; write simple correspondence.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram or schedule instructions.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, acceptable MVR, and ability to pass a DOT physical and obtain medical card.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect systems and equipment.
• Use tools ranging from hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and testing devices.
• Follow work orders and specifications to determine replacement, repair, or maintenance needs.
• Welding of buildings equipment and fabrication related to penning or gating.
• Must be on call for emergency situations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect, for the following but not limited to automated feed systems, fresh water wystems, recycle systems, cool cells, ventilation, controllers, and penning for animal production facilities sites to ensure operations run efficiently and effectively.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Follow work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment require replacement, repair or maintenance.
• Welding of buildings equipment including load out chutes, and fabrications of some penning or gating.
• Must be on call available for emergency situations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Two-year technical degree or greater, High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months experience or training; or combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders. Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Must possess a current valid driver's license, acceptable MVR, and ability to pass DOT physical and obtain medical card

SCHEDULE

The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends and overnight travel as requested.
