Job summary

Seaboard Foods seeks a Maintenance Team Member for our Rolla, Kansas location. You will assist in maintaining and repairing facility structures and systems to ensure continuous operations.

The role involves preventive maintenance, basic welding, and on-call duties, with responsibilities across feed and environmental systems. A two-year technical degree or GED is preferred, plus relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree or GED preferred; or 1–3 months experience or training.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders; write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with acceptable MVR and ability to pass DOT physical.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect equipment and systems.
  • Use tools ranging from hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and testing devices.
  • Follow work orders and specifications to determine what requires replacement, repair or maintenance.
  • Welding of buildings equipment and fabrication work as needed.
  • Be on call for emergency situations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect, for the following but not limited to automated feed systems, fresh water wystems, recycle systems, cool cells, ventilation, controllers, and penning for animal production facilities sites to ensure operations run efficiently and effectively.
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
  • Follow work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment require replacement, repair or maintenance.
  • Welding of buildings equipment including load out chutes, and fabrications of some penning or gating.
  • Must be on call available for emergency situations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Two-year technical degree or greater, High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months experience or training; or combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Must possess a current valid driver’s license, acceptable MVR, and ability to pass DOT physical and obtain medical card
SCHEDULE

The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends and overnight travel as requested.
