Job summary

Jackson County Medical Care Facility is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a full-time evening shift (11:30 AM – 7:30 PM) with responsibilities including preventive maintenance and transporting residents to appointments in our wheelchair van and bus. A Michigan Chauffeur's License is required, and a clean driving record is essential.

You'll join a four-person team maintaining a 98,700-square-foot facility, ensuring safety and comfort for residents.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Chauffeur's License before first day.
• Clean driving record and MVR check.
• Maintenance experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations.
• Genuine warmth and patience when working with older adults.

Responsibilities

• Respond to work orders and support preventive maintenance programs.
• Troubleshoot issues across building systems.
• Transport residents to and from medical appointments in wheelchair van and bus.
• Work as part of a four-person maintenance team under Maintenance Director.
• Support the Maintenance Director in daily operations and safety compliance.
