Job summary

Jackson County Medical Care Facility in Michigan seeks a Resident Transport Driver for daytime shifts (9:00 AM–5:30 PM). You will safely transport residents to appointments in our wheelchair van and bus, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the trip.

When not driving, you may assist the maintenance team with light duties such as painting and upkeep, contributing to a clean, welcoming home for our residents and families.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Chauffeur's License — must have prior to first day.
• Clean driving record — MVR check required.
• Genuine warmth and patience when working with older adults.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.

About the Role

The Resident Transport Driver is responsible for safely transporting residents to and from medical appointments in our wheelchair van and bus. This is a daytime role — primarily 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM with hours that may fluctuate based on scheduling needs. When not on transport runs, you may assist the maintenance team with light facility tasks including painting and general upkeep.

Qualifications

Required:

• Valid Michigan Chauffeur's License — must have prior to first day
• Clean driving record — MVR check required
• Genuine warmth and patience when working with older adults
• Dependable, punctual, and professional

Preferred:

• Experience transporting or working with older adults or individuals with disabilities
• Experience operating wheelchair vans or passenger buses
• Light maintenance experience
• Painting experience
