Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our on-site facility in Augusta, Maine. This 200,000 sq ft operation reports to the Facilities Manager and focuses on essential maintenance within a large distribution setting.

The role covers refrigeration, HVAC, dock doors, and material handling systems, with responsibilities including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting tasks. A stable, safety-focused environment is offered with room for growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 6-12 months maintenance experience.
• Mechanically inclined to fix dock plates, garage doors, pallet jacks and operate industrial tools.
• Ability to do general carpentry repairs and painting of walls, ceilings, flooring, etc.
• Computer skills to work with POs, work orders, read blueprints and process flows.
• Must be able to use ladders, powered lifts.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs occasionally and lesser weight regularly.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, service and repair to our refrigeration system, HVAC, Dock Doors, Loading Plates and Material Handling Equipment
• Assists with general construction, plumbing, electrical and painting projects
• Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment
• Must be proficient with Computers, ability to read blueprints and have basic math skills
• Able to respond to off hours emergencies when necessary
• Responsible for maintenance of warehouse racking
• Other duties as assigned
