Job summary

Gorman & Company is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician in Racine, WI to support affordable housing communities. You’ll perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance repairs, prep vacant units, and maintain safe, clean, and attractive properties while serving residents with a resident-first mindset.

Qualifications

• Two years of property maintenance or related trade experience.
• Experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance repair.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• HVAC-EPA Type II or EPA Universal preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily maintenance and repairs for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliances.
• Maintain exterior of the property and pool areas along with seasonal prep such as fall cleanup.
• Perform daily property walks to keep everything clean, safe, and looking sharp.
• Respond promptly to routine and emergency maintenance requests when assigned.
• Prepare vacant apartments for new residents using make-ready checklists.
• Inspect buildings and grounds to maintain safety, cleanliness, and curb appeal.
• Maintain common areas, exterior spaces, and grounds.
• Communicate with vendors and contractors.

We're looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our team supporting one of our affordable housing communities in the Racine area. Your work will directly impact the comfort, safety, and quality of life of our residents while helping create a community they are proud to call home. What You’ll Do

• Complete daily maintenance and repairs for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliances.

What You’ll Bring

• Minimum of two years of previous experience in property management maintenance, building maintenance, or related trade.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance repair.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet insurability requirements.
• Strong customer service skills with a resident-first mindset.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• HVAC-EPA (Type II), or EPA Universal preferred.
