Job summary

Avera Marshall Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general, mechanical and preventative maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs and moving equipment across facilities. This PRN role may require weekend and holiday coverage and on-call responsibilities.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, communicating with supervisors, maintaining records, and ensuring safe operation of boilers and building systems.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent.
• MN Driver's License upon hire.
• Boiler Operator licensing within 180 days.
• 1–3 years of related field experience.

A Brief Overview

The Maintenance Technician is accountable for performing a variety of general, mechanical and preventative maintenance duties as well as inspections, repairing and moving of equipment throughout assigned facilities.

What You Will Do

• Consults with and keeps supervisor informed on progress and any problems with assigned projects.
• Maintains all required records and pertinent information.
• Has knowledge of trends, standards, and legalities of practice and activities of department and facilities.
• Demonstrates ability to perform and finish carpentry work.
• Demonstrates ability to install sheetrock, plaster, metal studs (building materials) and perform culking.
• Demonstrates ability to install locks and other door and cabinet hardware.
• Demonstrates ability to assemble and install basic cabinetry and interpret drawings.
• Operates and maintains boilers and takes appropriate action for safe operation.

Required Education, License/Certification, Or Work Experience

• High School or GED Equivalent
• Driver's License (MN) - Minnesota Department of Public Safety Upon Hire
• Boiler Operator - Licensing Board within 180 Days
• 1-3 years experience in a related field.
