Job summary

Avera Marshall Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Technician to handle general mechanical and preventive maintenance tasks across facilities. You will inspect and repair equipment, perform carpentry and sheetrock work, install locks and hardware, and help move and install cabinetry while keeping supervisors updated on project status.

The role requires 1–3 years in a related field, a Minnesota driver’s license, and a boiler operator license within 180 days.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Driver's license in Minnesota required.
  • Boiler Operator licensing must be obtained within 180 days of hire.
  • 1-3 years experience in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Consults with supervisor on progress and issues with assigned projects.
  • Maintains records and pertinent information for projects.
  • Performs carpentry, sheetrock, cabinet fabrication and installation tasks.
  • Operates and maintains boilers and ensures safe operation.

Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewThe Maintenance Technician is accountable for performing a variety of general, mechanical and preventative maintenance duties as well as inspections, repairing and moving of equipment throughout assigned facilities.What you will doConsults with and keeps supervisor informed on progress and any problems with assigned projects.Maintains all required records and pertinent information.Has knowledge of trends, standards, and legalities of practice and activities of department and facilities.Demonstrates ability to perform and finish carpentry work.Demonstrates ability to install sheetrock, plaster, metal studs (building materials) and perform culking.Demonstrates ability to install locks and other door and cabinet hardware.Demonstrates ability to assemble and install basic cabinetry and interpret drawings.Operates and maintains boilers and takes appropriate action for safe operation.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
