Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a contract-to-hire role in Carbondale, IL. You will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems, diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated production equipment.

The position emphasizes rapid response to breakdowns, root-cause analysis, and participation in continuous improvement to reduce downtime.

Qualifications

• Experience performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Strong mechanical repair skills for production machinery and systems.
• Hands-on troubleshooting for electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated equipment.
• Ability to diagnose complex failures and document maintenance history.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated production equipment.
• Troubleshoot failures and respond quickly to breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Support continuous improvement to reduce downtime and improve reliability across the facility.
• Execute scheduled maintenance per plans and manufacturer guidelines.
• Monitor equipment performance and participate in predictive maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment histories.
