Job summary

Greif, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs on industrial equipment in Lavonia, GA. You will diagnose issues, document work, and support installation or relocation of machinery while adhering to safety procedures.

Typical duties include using diagnostic tools, reading schematics and P&IDs, and coordinating with teams to ensure uptime. A high school diploma and 2–4 years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.
• Skill in using diagnostic tools to assess performance and functionality.
• Troubleshooting ability to identify root causes and perform moderate repairs.
• Knowledge of technical documents, schematics, blueprints, and P&IDs.
• Accuracy in documenting repairs and recommending future maintenance.
• Organizational skills to manage tools, supplies, and replacement parts.
• Capability to support equipment installation, modification, and relocation.
• Communication skills to share feedback and assist junior mechanics.
• Works well under general guidance while following safety and operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance in accordance with procedures.
• Inspects, lubricates, cleans, and tightens components; calibrates sensors and gauges.
• Runs diagnostic tests to assess condition and performance of machinery.
• Troubleshoots issues by testing and examining symptoms to locate causes.
• Determines materials and tools needed for repairs.
• Documents maintenance and repair work, including parts used.
• May assist in projects involving installation or relocation of equipment.
• Follows safety procedures and company guidelines.
