Job summary

The City of Farmington is seeking a Maintenance Technician-Plumber to perform plumbing and related mechanical maintenance in City facilities. This regular/full-time role requires collaboration with the Lead Plumber and may involve supervising part-time staff. Expected duties include repairs, installations, inspections, and preventative maintenance.

Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the MOC-Building Maintenance location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of plumbing and maintenance experience required.
• Knowledge of plumbing codes and standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive working relationships with staff and public.
• Operate a vehicle to support department operations.
• Assist Lead Plumber and supervise staff as assigned.
• Repair and maintain plumbing and mechanical equipment in City facilities.
• Perform plumbing installations and remodels from plans and verbal instructions.
• Inspect equipment for defects and perform repairs.
• Assist with routine custodial duties and preventative maintenance.
• Operate various vehicles and equipment as needed.
