Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese is seeking a Maintenance Technician I–IV to keep our production lines running safely and efficiently. The role involves troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and rapid response to line issues to minimize downtime.

Candidates should have an Associate’s degree or equivalent, 3+ years of maintenance experience, and strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, plus PLCs and welding skills. OSHA familiarity and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• 3 years of maintenance experience and/or training or more.
• Advanced understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and understand schematics, pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic drawings.
• Advanced electrical knowledge/training.
• Advanced knowledge of PLCs and ability to troubleshoot these systems.
• Ability to weld. (TIG, MIG and Stick).
• Familiarity with OSHA requirements.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to production requests for immediate attention to line issues.
• Maintain production equipment.
• Maintain records of preventative maintenance.
• Create requisitions of parts and supplies.
• Advance knowledge to maintain electrical/electronic systems.
• Identify problem areas and address with permanent solutions.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures per Good Manufacturing Practices.
