Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese, Inc. is seeking a maintenance technician to ensure safe, reliable operation of building systems and production equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections, coordinating with vendors, EHS, and production staff.

The role requires experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, welding skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced facility environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of maintenance experience or more.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Welding ability (TIG, MIG and Stick).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all internal and external building structures to ensure safety and functionality.
• Perform rounds and daily inspections on ammonia refrigeration equipment for safe operation.
• Inspect and schedule repair on pumps, compressors, and processing equipment tied to ammonia and cooling systems.
• Operate and maintain air compressors and plant compressed air system.
• Maintain WWTP-related equipment and chemicals used in wastewater pre-treatment.
• Document daily rounds, PMs and part requisitions, and coordinate with vendors and EHS for inspections.
