Job summary

Wyndham Lakes is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Jacksonville, FL to perform repairs and preventive maintenance across community facilities. You will handle HVAC, plumbing, electrical tasks and safety system checks to ensure a high level of resident comfort and safety.

The role runs on weekends with a 8:30am–4:30pm schedule; a competitive starting wage and benefits package are offered. Experience in similar roles and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Must have basic Maintenance Experience (Paint, Plumbing, Locks, Toilets, Faucet Install, AC Troubleshooting, Electrical, Carpentry).
• Demonstrated success in a similar position.
• May be required to hold First Aid Certification and a valid Driver's License.
• Passenger endorsement is nice to have but not required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform removal, installation, and repair/rebuilding of A/C equipment (compressor changes, leaks, motor replacements, recharging).
• Subcontract repairs or alterations with fiscally sound bids.
• Assist with move-in/out details and prepare rooms for resident use.
• Test and maintain safety equipment, fire alarms, smoke detectors, and emergency call systems.
• Maintain compliance with state regulatory requirements for maintenance systems.
• Repair plumbing fixtures and fixtures (faucets, toilets, drains, water lines).
• Repair electrical apparatus and appliances (lights, switches, outlets, motors).
• Hang wall cabinets and install/remove doors; adjust locks.
• Perform wall texturing, painting, wallpapering; complete roof repairs.

****We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team!

This position will perform the repairs, alterations, and maintenance of Community property that will promote a high sense of well-being and aesthetic appeal for residents, families, and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform removal, installation, and repair/rebuilding of A/C equipment (e.g. compressor change-outs, refrigeration leaks, motor replacements, recharging).
• Subcontract repairs or alterations as necessary, securing fiscally sound bids.
• Assist with move-in/out details. Prepare/repair rooms for resident use.
• Test and maintain safety equipment, fire alarm systems, smoke detectors, and emergency call systems.
• Maintain compliance with state regulatory requirements regarding maintenance systems (e.g. water temperatures, call-bell systems, door alarms, fire alarms, etc.).
• Repair plumbing fixtures (e.g., leaky faucets, toilets, sinks, drains, valves, water lines, and ball cocks). Plunge toilets, sink, and floor drains.
• Repair electrical apparatus, (e.g., lights, switches, outlets, motors, icemakers, and appliances). Replace overhead light bulbs.
• Repair appliances (e.g., garbage disposal, dishwashers, icemakers, laundry equipment, stoves, heating, and air conditioning equipment, commercial kitchen and laundry equipment, telephone systems, and nurse call systems).
• Hang wall cabinets (e.g., kitchen and bath).
• Perform door removal and installation. Repair door locks and make adjustments.
• Perform wall texturing, painting, wall repairs, and wallpapering.
• Complete roof repairs.

Skills:
