Job summary

Velociti Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician to preserve and service client facilities. You will conduct assessments, schedule repairs, manage inventory, and develop preventative maintenance plans to keep buildings and systems operating smoothly.

An ideal candidate has knowledge of maintenance procedures, hydraulic systems, and basic tools, with strong problem-solving and communication skills to support facilities operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• HVAC or building maintenance certificate preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in maintenance role.
• Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Strong maintenance procedures knowledge.
• Willingness to work overtime including evenings and weekends.
• Plumbing knowledge to address leaks and drainage issues.
• Electrical wiring capabilities for building systems.
• Carpentry for basic repairs around the building.
• Groundskeeping if applicable to the facility.
• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

Your duties will include conducting quality assessments, scheduling repairs, maintaining inventory, and developing preventative maintenance procedures.

Your duties will include conducting quality assessments, scheduling repairs, maintaining inventory, and developing preventative maintenance procedures.

An ideal candidate will be a jack-of-all-trades, with in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, hydraulic systems, and basic tools and appliances. To excel in this position, you must be an outstanding problem-solver with exceptional communication and organizational skills.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues
• Repair faulty equipment units and damaged structures
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures
• Manage heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality
• Plan and schedule repairs
• Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard
• Perform general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry
• Help develop and implement the budget for the maintenance department
• Maintain the inventory records for equipment and supplies
• Other duties as assigned or requested

Ideal Candidate Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification
• Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field is preferred
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• In-depth knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems
• Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques
• Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings
• Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs, or other drainage problems
• Electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the building’s electricity
• Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building
• Groundskeeping if the facility contains lawns or other outdoor areas in need of maintenance
• Interpersonal skills to interact with employees or residents of the building in a pleasant manner
• Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked

Physical RequirementsApplicants for this role must be able to:

• Lift, bend, squat, and stretch to move boxes, parcels, and shipments
• Climb small to medium flights of stairs multiple times a day
• Standing for extended periods of time
• Approximately equal amount of time sitting and walking
• Requires ability to bend, reach and stand for extended periods
• Able to hear and speak into a telephone and walkie-talkie
• Close visual work on a computer terminal
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Able to climb a ladder and work on a raised platform
