Job summary

The Cesar Chavez Foundation is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Janitor in Pomona, CA to keep the property in excellent condition and to complete resident service requests promptly. You will perform maintenance and janitorial tasks, coordinate with vendors, and prepare properties for inspections.

Requirements include at least three years in general maintenance, basic English proficiency, and strong teamwork. HVAC certification is a plus.

Qualifications

Minimum of three years general maintenance experience.
HVAC certification preferred but not required.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Effective communication with people from diverse backgrounds.
Strong problem-solving and practical thinking.
Ability to work well with others.
On-call after hours.
Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Performs property maintenance and repairs as assigned by the Property Manager including plastering, painting, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical and electrical.
Observe and practice safety procedures; wear safety gear and use proper signage.
Perform janitorial duties in common areas and vacant units upon request.
Prioritize, schedule and complete resident service requests per Cesar Chavez Foundation standards.
Prepare properties for inspections by regulatory agencies.
Coordinate and monitor progress of vendors or outside contractors.
Inspect property daily and report needed repairs.
Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions; arrange repairs as needed.
Maintain logs, inventories and complete daily paperwork.
Assist in supplies orders and respond to after-hours emergencies.
Other duties as assigned by the Property Manager or Property Supervisor.
