Job summary

Discovery Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance professional to perform grounds and building upkeep, complete service requests, and handle a variety of repair tasks. The role involves routine maintenance, basic plumbing/electrical work, and preparing rooms as needed.

The ideal candidate has one year of maintenance experience, on-call availability, and knowledge of safety regulations. Excellent communication and time-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• One-year maintenance experience.
• Ability to be on call if needed.
• General understanding of plumbing, electrical, mechanical and code compliance systems.
• Knowledge of OSHA, fire prevention, life and safety regulations.
• Ability to respond to emergency calls outside of scheduled work hours.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Competent organizational and time-management skills.
• Good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and housekeeping duties in and around the community grounds as assigned.
• Complete all service requests for repair and maintenance of grounds, buildings, apartment homes, equipment and vehicles in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
• Perform routine maintenance duties such as fixing wall and/or floor coverings; repairing furniture and fixtures; basic plumbing work; minor electrical repairs; appliance repairs; painting and refurbishing projects; working with heating, air and refrigeration systems; carpet and hard surface maintenance; and “make ready” rooms as assigned.
