Job summary

SupportWorks Housing in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Full Time Maintenance Technician to perform and coordinate building maintenance tasks. You will handle electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs to ensure safe and functional properties.

The role requires at least 1 year of maintenance experience, a valid Virginia driver's license, and the ability to operate and maintain building systems. A comprehensive benefits package accompanies the position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of building and grounds maintenance experience.
• Valid VA Driver's License with clean driving record.
• Basic maintenance tools and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders and walk-through inspections.
• Ensure all buildings and building systems are operating properly.
• Perform electrical repairs such as outlets, wall switches, light fixtures and circuits.
• Perform plumbing work such as clearing clogs, replacing fittings, stopping leaks.
• Repair or replace glass, tile, cove base, fixtures, blinds, locks, doorknobs, hinges.
• Paint interior surfaces and perform carpentry work.
• Review supply and equipment inventory and place orders.
• Complete unit turnovers.
• Conduct quarterly inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain grounds.
• Assist in 24-hour emergency maintenance and on-call rotation.

What you'll bring to SupportWorks:
