Job summary

AZEK Company in Wilmington, OH is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the night shift (D Crew) on-site. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing complex equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring rapid response to downtime across production lines.

Qualifications

  • Experience navigating PLC ladder logic for troubleshooting (programming not required).
  • Welding experience is a plus; welding certifications are a plus.
  • Forklift experience required (must complete Return Polymers forklift certification).
  • Must pass a Physical Abilities Test.

Responsibilities

  • Independently diagnose and repair equipment issues with a focus on minimizing downtime.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures on complex industrial equipment.
  • Utilize VFDs, motor control systems, HMIs, and PLC logic for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Maintain and improve production line performance through rapid response to equipment failures.
  • Reduce mean time to repair (MTTR) and prevent repeat failures through root-cause analysis.
  • Plan, prioritize, and complete work orders per shift.
  • Maintain an 85%+ on-time completion rate for assigned work orders.
  • Own scheduled PM tasks, ensuring completion and accuracy.
  • Identify risks before breakdowns occur and recommend improvements to prevent recurring issues.
  • Support reliability efforts, TPM activities, and equipment health checks.
  • Lead by example on 6S expectations and uptime improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to improvements that increase throughput, speed, or reliability.
  • Commission equipment after maintenance, ensuring smooth startup with minimal adjustments.
  • Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, and fellow maintenance techs.

Hours: 6:45PM to 7AM on a rotating 2/2/3 schedule.

Pay Range: $23.00-$31.00 depending on level of experience!

Equipment Troubleshooting & Repair (Primary Responsibility)

Independently diagnose and repair equipment issues with a focus on minimizing downtime.

Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures on complex industrial equipment.

Utilize VFDs, motor control systems, HMIs, and PLC logic (Allen-Bradley preferred) for troubleshooting purposes.

Production Line Support

Maintain and improve production line performance through rapid response to equipment failures.

Reduce mean time to repair (MTTR) and prevent repeat failures through strong root-cause analysis.

Work autonomously to plan, prioritize, and complete work orders per shift.

Maintain an 85%+ on-time completion rate for assigned work orders.

Preventative & Predictive Maintenance

Own scheduled PM tasks, ensuring completion and accuracy.

Identify risks before breakdowns occur and recommend improvements to prevent recurring issues.

Support reliability efforts, contributing to reduced unplanned downtime.

Lead by example on 6S expectations and uptime improvement initiatives.

Contribute to TPM activities and equipment health checks.

Support improvement projects that increase throughput, speed, or reliability.

Commission equipment after maintenance, ensuring smooth and accurate startup with minimal adjustments required.

Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, and fellow maintenance techs.

Share knowledge with team members and help elevate best practices across shifts.

Experience & Autonomy

Minimum 3 years of hands‑on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (required).

Technical Skills

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 50 lbs+ and maneuver large, heavy equipment.

Ability to wear PPE at all times.

Must pass a Physical Abilities Test.

Education & Certifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Technical training, two‑year maintenance certification, or trade school background is preferred.

Forklift experience required (must complete Return Polymers forklift certification).

Welding certifications are a plus.
