Job summary

Vital Farms is hiring a Maintenance Technician to join our production team in a food manufacturing setting. You will perform repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance across machinery and facilities, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

The role requires at least 1 year of maintenance experience, ability to lift up to 60 lbs, and a willingness to work 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule. We offer competitive pay, benefits, and a mission-driven culture focused on ethical food.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of General Maintenance Experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment & food/beverage experience is highly preferred.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 60lbs.
  • High school diploma or GED required; degree preferred.
  • Basic technical knowledge across: Welding, Piping, Electricity, PLCs, instrumentation.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Install and maintain pipe systems, hydraulic, steam, pneumatic equipment.
  • Repair and replace gauges, valves, regulators, and related equipment.
  • Building maintenance including minor plumbing, welding, and general upkeep.

As a Maintenance Technician at Vital Farms, you will...

Work with the Maintenance team to complete building repairs, equipment installation, troubleshooting and installation, fulfillment of assigned work orders and unforeseen repairs in a timely fashion. You’ll follow good manufacturing practices to maintain inventory, preventative maintenance, good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations. 2-2-3 schedule:

2-week cycle

  • Week 1: 2 days on / 2 days off / 3 days on
  • Week 2: 2 days off / 2 days on / 3 days off
Shifts:

12-hour shifts

  • Day Crew – 7am-7pm
  • Night Crew - 7pm to 7am
Pay Rate
  • Day Crew- $29.00 per hour
  • Night Crew - $29.00 per hour (+ $3.00 Shift Differential)
What You’ll Do

  • Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and other related equipment
  • Building maintenance including minor plumbing, welding, and general upkeep
What You Bring To The Table
  • 1+ years of General Maintenance Experience.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment & food/beverage experience is highly preferred
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 60lbs.
  • High school diploma or GED is required, associated degree in relevant field preferred
  • Possess and demonstrate basic technical knowledge of some or all the following:
    • Stainless Steel Welding/Fabrication
    • Piping systems
    • Electricity
    • PLC’s (Programmable logic controllers) – a plus
    • Process control instrumentation
    • HVAC systems
    • Process equipment
    • Personal Computing
