Job summary

Orbia is seeking a maintenance technician to join our team in Florida. The role focuses on mechanical maintenance across a range of equipment, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain extrusion and support systems, conduct tool changes, and assist during plant downtime. The ideal candidate has 3–4 years of mechanical maintenance experience, strong math and measurement skills, and proficiency with tools like volt meters, wrenches, and drill presses.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in mechanical maintenance.
• Ability to perform simple math and take measurements, understanding basic tool use.
• Capability to read and comprehend work instructions and safety documents.
• Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of power transmission equipment, including bearings, gears, sprockets, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and pumps.
• Proficiency in using various hand and power tools required for the position, including wrenches, torches, volt meters, drill press, and band saw.
• Some electrical ability is preferred.
• Familiarity with plumbing.
• Good knowledge of state and local safety codes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain resin systems, vacuum loaders, and clean filters, making necessary repairs.
• Ensure upkeep of support equipment such as tape feeders, spiral units, extruders, vacuum tanks, pullers, reelers, air systems, and water systems.
• Provide assistance to all departments during breakdowns.
• Perform tooling changes for the extrusion department as required by order changes.
• Utilize a volt meter to check and replace fuses, motor starters, relays, pumps, motors, and troubleshoot faulty electric circuits.
• Assist the general maintenance crew in equipment rebuilds, plant shutdowns, and new equipment installations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all safety requirements for the position.
• Perform any other duties as directed by management.

The compensation for this position is included above. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
