Job summary

Darigold in Caldwell, Idaho is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and repair plant equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation of production lines through preventive maintenance and proactive troubleshooting.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of mechanical/electrical maintenance or an instrumentation certificate; dairy experience is preferred. A sign-on bonus is offered; schedule includes evenings, weekends, and varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical/electrical maintenance, or instrumentation certificate.
• Experience with PLCs, electrical controls, and instrumentation in a manufacturing setting.
• Dairy or food production experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on engines, motors, conveyors, and production machines; follow manuals and specs.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and reduce downtime; communicate with production staff.
• Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and instrumentation.
• Read and troubleshoot electrical schematics; handle 24V-480V systems.

Job description

Darigold is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic. The Maintenance Mechanic must possess the desire and ability to maintain all plant equipment. As a member of the Idaho team, the Maintenance Mechanic will be a partner in the Operations Division. The Maintenance Mechanic’s role is to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on all plant equipment.

$2000 sign on bonus!

Schedule: Thursday-Saturday and every other Wednesday from 5:00pm-5:30am

What You Will Do

· Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions

· Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance

· Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.

· Proficient in process instrumentation including troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and calibration

· Read, understand, and troubleshoot using electrical schematics

· General electrical troubleshooting of 24v, 110v, 220v and 480v systems

· Understand the theory behind process flow

What You Bring:

· Highly proficient and experienced in troubleshooting, PLC s, electrical controls, instrumentation

· Knowledgeable in the areas of mechanical machinery, steam, boiler, pneumatic & hydraulic operations

· Read/understand blueprints, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals

· Must be available ALL DAYS, ALL SHIFTS

· Boiler and/or Refrigeration experience preferred

· Strong oral and written communication skills; must be able to read and follow directions

· Must be able to monitor and inspect product and equipment and follow instructions with minimal supervision

· Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Processes

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical/electrical maintenance, or instrumentation certificate

· Food background preferred, specifically dairy

· Experience in a variety of manufacturing areas (production, logistics), within consumer products.
