Job summary

Cortland is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Denver to keep our multifamily communities safe, functional, and well-maintained. You will diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and appliance systems, perform preventative maintenance, and help protect property assets through consistent care.

Candidates must hold EPA certification (Type I/II/Universal), have a high school diploma, 1–3+ years of relevant experience, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• EPA certification is required for this role.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–3+ years of experience in maintenance, facilities, or multi-family housing is preferred.
• Strong technical skills across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, and general building systems.
• Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and handle multiple work orders.
• Good attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to safely operate tools and maintenance equipment.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to perform physical work including lifting and climbing ladders.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and resolve maintenance issues across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and building components.
• Address unsafe conditions quickly and safely (e.g., broken lights, damaged gates).
• Monitor and report on building and security systems to support asset preservation.
• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on HVAC units and building systems.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and spare parts for timely work orders.
• Respond to on-call rotations and emergencies; assist residents and the property.
