Job summary

Jubilee Housing in Washington, DC, seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and emergency maintenance across its portfolio of affordable housing. You will handle plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building tasks while prioritizing safety, resident relations, and timely, quality work.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED plus 1–2 years of maintenance experience; HVAC certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; trade certifications a plus.
• 1–2 years of property or facilities maintenance experience.
• Experience in multifamily or affordable housing is preferred.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and building systems.
• Strong customer-service skills and ability to work with diverse residents.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance across Jubilee Housing properties.
• Complete unit turns, preventive maintenance, and inspections on schedule.
• Troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and carpentry issues.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and documentation; communicate with residents and supervisors.
• Participate in on-call emergencies and travel between sites as needed.
