Job summary

Alliant Energy in Wisconsin is seeking a journey-level technician to perform mechanical, basic electrical and control maintenance at a generation facility. You will troubleshoot, repair, clean and inspect equipment and systems, and operate devices to support diagnostics.

You will use machine tools and hand tools, perform welding, operate mobile equipment, and participate in safety and continuous improvement efforts while maintaining housekeeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Journey level in the mechanical trade.
• Ability to read procedures and safety rules.
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, clean, inspect, and construct equipment and systems at the generation facility.
• Operate data-gathering devices and interpret information for diagnostics.
• Use machining tools and hand tools as required.
• Operate mobile and heavy equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Perform welding activities.
