Job summary

Alliant Energy in Wisconsin is seeking an experienced technician to perform varied electrical, basic control and mechanical maintenance at the generation facility and high voltage substation. The role emphasizes safety, documentation and teamwork.

You will troubleshoot, calibrate, repair and install systems, work from blueprints, follow procedures, and support plant reliability and continuous improvement while meeting high standards of performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Journey level in the electrical trade.
• Completion of a State Approved Apprenticeship Program.

Responsibilities

• Performs the electrical and basic mechanical troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, cleaning, inspecting and constructing of equipment and systems for the generation facility.
• Performs maintenance of electrical equipment at an electric generating station and high voltage substation.
• Maintains and installs the basic plant control systems and similar activities.
• Maintains, calibrates, assists with required testing of equipment and systems.
• Processes all necessary documentation.
• Operates and/or obtains information from various basic mechanical and electrical devices used to support specific equipment diagnostics or work activities; gathers, interprets and logs data.
• Is proficient in the use of various powered and/or hand tools as job needs dictate.
• Supports safety, plant reliability, productivity, and plant efficiency improvements by participating in various continuous improvement activities.
• Performs various generating plant and shop area housekeeping functions.
• Performs all work according to established procedures and safety practices.
• Performs other duties which are similar, related, or incidental to this position.
