Job summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a skilled maintenance professional to perform mechanical, electrical, and instrument control tasks at our generation facility. The role involves troubleshooting, troubleshooting data interpretation, and using machine tools and hand tools for repairs and ongoing improvements.

Responsibilities include operating heavy equipment for maintenance, welding, and ensuring safety and reliability while contributing to continuous improvement and housekeeping in the plant and shop

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Journey level in the mechanical trade with welding and machining knowledge.
• Strong problem-solving ability and teamwork in a safety-conscious environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs the mechanical and basic electrical and basic instrument and control troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, cleaning, inspecting and constructing of equipment and systems for the generation facility.
• Operates and/or obtains information from various mechanical and electrical devices used to support specific equipment diagnostics or work activities; gathers, interprets and logs data.
• Is proficient in the use of machine tools and various hand powered tools as job needs dictate.
• Operates mobile and heavy equipment to perform maintenance tasks.
• Performs various welding activities.
• Supports safety, plant reliability, productivity, and plant efficiency improvements by participating in various continuous improvement activities.
• Performs all work according to established procedures and safety practices.
• Performs various generating plant and shop area housekeeping functions.
• Performs other duties which are similar, related, or incidental to this position.
