Job summary

Gorman & Company is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician in Milwaukee, WI to support two affordable housing communities. You will oversee day-to-day property maintenance, respond to service needs, and ensure residents have a well-maintained place to call home.

This is a full-time, on-site role with opportunities for growth within the organization. Responsibilities include completing repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliances, addressing routine and emergency requests, and

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of maintenance experience in property management, building maintenance, or related trades.
• Experience in affordable housing maintenance is a plus.
• Proficient knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and appliance repair.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet insurance requirements.
• Strong time management and organizational skills; adaptable to change.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily maintenance and repairs for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliances.
• Respond to routine and emergency maintenance requests promptly.
• Perform daily property walks to maintain safety, cleanliness, and curb appeal.
• Prepare vacant apartments for new residents using make-ready checklists.
• Inspect buildings and grounds to maintain safety and aesthetics.
• Maintain common areas, exterior spaces, and grounds; handle seasonal prep like fall cleanup.
• Communicate with vendors and contractors.

We're looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician to support McKinley School Apartments (39-units) and Washington Park Townhomes, (40-units) two affordable housing communities in Milwaukee, WI. You'll help oversee day-to-day property maintenance, respond to service needs, and ensure residents have a well-maintained place to call home.

What You'll Do:

• Complete daily maintenance and repairs for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliances.


• Respond promptly to routine and emergency maintenance requests when assigned.


• Perform daily property walks to keep everything clean, safe and looking sharp.


• Prepare vacant apartments for new residents using make-ready checklists.


• Inspect buildings and grounds to maintain safety, cleanliness, and curb appeal.


• Maintain common areas, exterior spaces, and grounds as well as tackling seasonal prep like fall cleanup.


• Communicate with vendors and contractors.

What You'll Bring:

• Minimum of two years of previous experience in property management maintenance, building maintenance, or related trade.


• Affordable housing maintenance experience preferred.


• Working knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and appliance repair.


• Valid drivers license and ability to meet insurance requirements.


• Great time management, organizational skills, and adaptable to change.


• Strong customer service skills with a resident-first mindset.


• HVAC-EPA (Type II), or EPA Universal preferred.


• High School diploma or equivalent required.
