Job summary

Aeon in Saint Paul is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Mary Hall, an 88-unit permanent supportive housing community downtown. You will perform a wide range of repairs and preventive maintenance to keep the property safe and well‑maintained, reporting to the Property Manager.

Job description

Position Summary

Aeon is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join the team at Mary Hall, an 88‑unit permanent supportive housing community located in historic Downtown St. Paul, providing housing for veterans experiencing homelessness, individuals prioritized through homelessness response systems, and others in need of affordable housing.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical condition of the property and ensuring Aeon's standards are met across preventative maintenance, safety, property appearance, and overall building operations. This role supports the day‑to‑day upkeep of the community and helps ensure residents live in a safe, well‑maintained environment.

This position reports to the Property Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Complete maintenance service requests by performing a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks, including:

• Plumbing repairs
• Electrical repairs
• Appliance repair and maintenance
• Air handler and general HVAC maintenance
• Lock changes and hardware replacement
• Preventative maintenance
• Apartment turnovers and preparation for new residents
• Installation and repair of doors, cabinets, light fixtures, window coverings, and other building components

Property Upkeep

• Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the property.
• Manage regular trash removal and trash area maintenance.
• Remove debris from interior and exterior areas of the property.
• Perform seasonal duties such as light snow removal and salting/sanding walkways.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time.
• Ability to conduct property tours and inspections: Includes walking through hallways, stairwells, leasing offices, common areas, and vacant or occupied apartment homes. This may involve navigating multiple floors and uneven surfaces.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to reach above and below the shoulders.
• Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, twist, and pull.
• Ability to withstand external weather conditions such as working outside in the rain, cold, heat or other adverse weather.
• Ability to quickly respond to sights and sounds that may pose a threat to persons or property.

This full‑time position offers a pay range of $25‑$28 per hour, depending on experience and skill set. This is a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. This is an in‑person role based at the assigned property, with occasional work at Aeon's Central Office, training facilities, or other properties as needed.
