Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school, or 2–4 years related experience and high school diploma or GED, or equivalent mix.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts.
• Installs, programs or repairs automated machinery and equipment.
• Operates machine tools to repair or fabricate parts.
• Performs routine maintenance and safety checks.
