Job summary

WeatherTech Direct is seeking a Maintenance Technician – Level 2 to perform maintenance and repairs on machines used on Injection Molding and Thermoforming production processes.

The role requires experience in industrial maintenance, knowledge of controls, and the ability to read schematics. Competitive compensation includes base pay and shift differentials depending on 2nd or 3rd shift, plus benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent in Industrial Maintenance Technology.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Must read, write, and understand work orders/instructions in English.
• Knowledge of maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and robotics systems.
• Knowledge of Plastic Injection Molding, Thermoforming, and Automation.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand and power tools to perform maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and/or robotics components.
• Carry out Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks.
• Communicate with prior/oncoming shifts regarding maintenance priorities.
• Conduct daily maintenance checks and complete tasks.
• Operate a computer to maintain maintenance data and repairs.
• Train new and existing team members on area functions.

Job description

2nd and 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician – Level 2

WeatherTech Direct is seeking a well-qualified Maintenance Technician- Level 2 to perform maintenance and repairs on machines used on the Injection Molding and Thermoforming production process.

• The base hourly rate of pay starts at $28 per hour or more, depending on experience
• Additional compensation: $1.00 per hour 2nd shift differential, $1.50 per hour 3rd shift differential

As a Maintenance Technician – Level 2, you will

• Operate various hand and power tools to perform maintenance work and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and/or robotics components efficiently and in order of priority
• Carry out assigned Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks
• Communicate with prior/oncoming shifts regarding any maintenance priorities and status updates
• Conduct daily maintenance checks and complete daily maintenance tasks
• Operate a computer to maintain data on maintenance and completed repairs
• Train new and existing team members on different functions of the work area to ensure all can perform all tasks properly; share knowledge and best practices to help aid efficiency and productivity
• Perform all job functions in compliance with safety guidelines and company policies/procedures
• Work overtime as business demands
• Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition while cleaning and maintaining equipment as needed
• Communicate clearly and work as part of a team
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualified Candidates will

• Associates Degree or equivalent in Industrial Maintenance Technology and/or the equivalent with demonstrated experience in the Industrial Maintenance field.
• Current Level 1 Maintenance Technician that has continued on with their education and has Certificate of Completions in the following courses with a grade C or better (curriculum derived from the Joliet Junior College) and/or equivalent job experience:
  • EEAS 113: Industrial Controls 2
  • IMT 123: Maintenance Management
  • TMT 102: Technical Mathematics
  • EEAS 223 - Industrial Circuits-Advanced Programmable Controllers
  • EEAS 225 - Automated Systems
  • EEAS 240 - Motors and Drives
• 5 plus years of related experience
• Basic math, measuring, and computer skills required
• Team player with a good attitude and strong work ethic; must be dependable with excellent attendance
• Must be able to read, write, and understand verbal and written work orders/instructions in English
• Demonstrate knowledge of performing maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and/or robotics systems
• Demonstrate knowledge of manufacturing processes such as Plastic Injection Molding, Thermoforming, and Automation
• Ability to read machinery manuals, blueprints, and schematics
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations as they pertain to manufacturing and/or completion of OSHA 10 Hours training course
• High degree of attention and detail required to prevent accidents, injuries, and quality issues
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
